Why paid codes on lnkz.xyz are shorter
Typical Bitly-class free links sit at seven characters. Pro on lnkz.xyz issues four. Business issues three - and one two-character code.

- Bitly alternative

A short link is a promise: this string is small enough to say out loud, print on a poster, and still resolve. Most public shorteners give every free user a long random code. lnkz.xyz does something stricter. Codes are sequential base62, and length is a plan feature - not a surprise.
How long a code actually is
- Guest and Free: 7 characters. Plenty of inventory, no account required to start.
- Pro: 4 characters. Shorter than typical Bitly defaults.
- Business: 3 characters by default, plus one 2-character code per account.
- 1-character codes are reserved. They are never auto-issued.
The alphabet is 0-9, a-z, A-Z. Codes are case-sensitive, so k9Q and k9q are different links. We skip reserved words like app, pricing, and blog so a short path never collides with the product.
What happens when inventory runs out
Two-character codes are scarce - a few thousand of them. Business includes one. Extra two-character codes are a one-time $15 add-on while they last. When that pool is gone, new Business links still get three characters. Existing links keep their original codes forever. We do not recycle deleted codes.
Redirects stay on if you downgrade or hit a monthly create quota. Quotas limit creating new links and using gated tools. They never turn off a link people already clicked.

What actually changes when you move a team off Bitly
Shorter paid codes, a team activity log, outbound webhooks, and custom domains that register themselves automatically - a practical look at what's different, not a marketing page.
