If you only need one link for a slide or a chat, creating an account is friction. lnkz.xyz lets anyone paste a destination on the homepage and get a live 7-character link in one action.

What “guest” actually stores

We keep up to 50 unclaimed link ids in a signed cookie named lnkz_guest, for 30 days. That cookie is not a login. It is a claim ticket. Rate limits apply: 10 new guest links per hour per IP. After that, Cloudflare Turnstile appears on the homepage form so bots cannot burn through inventory.

When you sign up or log in, those unowned rows are attached to your user. Claiming does not spend your Free monthly create quota. New links you make after that use your plan’s cap: 50 / month on Free, 1,000 on Pro, unlimited on Business.

What guests cannot do

• Custom aliases, QR downloads, and the UTM builder stay on Pro.
• Geo and device charts stay on Pro.
• Custom domains, teams, and link-in-bio pages stay on Business or Pro (bio).
• The API needs a verified email and a key that starts with lnkz_.

Google sign-in counts as a verified email. Email-and-password accounts can use the dashboard immediately, and must verify before creating API keys or starting Checkout. Verification emails send through Resend when configured; otherwise the verify link appears on screen after signup.
